Killian is reading for a PhD at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. There he studies the ‘Economics of Corporate Strategy’, and in particular the factors affecting the performance of mergers acquisitions. Killian holds a Bachelors in Business, which he earned at University College Cork (Ireland), and two masters degrees in Economics, which he earned at the Universiteit Utrecht and the Universität Wien (Austria).

Muhammad works at the Radboud University Nijmegen, as a PhD researcher within the chair of accountancy. His current research project relates to the understanding of why and how shared service centres are adopted and implemented in practice. He holds a Bachelors of Commerce from the University of the Punjab (Pakistan) and a Masters as an Associate Cost & Management Accountant (ACMA), which he earned from the Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of Pakistan.

Tiago analyzes the impact of business incubation in his PhD project. His research interests include the fields of entrepreneurship, small business management, technology transfer and organizational change. Tiago graduated in Industrial Engineering (Évora) and holds a M.Sc. in Engineering Policy and Management of Technology (Lisbon). Tiago has a keen interest in travelling and learning about places and, whenever not working, takes black and white photos with classic cameras, reads grand novels and listens heedfully to music.

Samy is working as PhD student at VU University Amsterdam. There,under the supervision of Prof. dr. Tom Groot and Prof. dr. Henri Dekker, he studies “The influence of task uncertainty, information sharing, and control systems on buyer-supplier relationships”. Samy holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in management accounting from Ain shams University (Cairo-Egypt), where he also holds the position of assistant professor.

Meg is in the second year of her PhD at the Marketing and Strategy section of Amsterdam Business School. Her research focuses on corporate social responsibility, particularly in the field of corporate communications on social media. Prior to joining the PhD program, she earned a Masters in Marketing from the University of Strathclyde (Scotland). She also holds a Bachelors in Zoology from National Taiwan University (Taiwan), and a Masters in Applied Animal Behaviours and Animal Welfare from the University of Edinburgh (Scotland).

Jan is reading for a PhD at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. There he studies independent entrepreneurs, with a focus on their personality profile, psychological contract and preferred leadership. Jan holds three master degrees, of which two have been obtained at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and one at Nyenrode Business Universiteit.

Rauf is working as a PhD researcher at the University of Twente. There he works on Human Resource Management (HRM) within Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). More specifically, on enhancing HR effectiveness in SMEs. He has an MBA from International Islamic University, (Pakistan) and an MSc. in Business Administration from the University of Twente (The Netherlands).

Pieter Terlouw is scientific director of NOBEM. He is associate professor in business research methods. From origin he is a mathematician and holds a Ph.D. in the social sciences. His main research areas are decision making under uncertainty and business development. He has a special interest in (design) methodology. He also has a strong focus on teaching and building and evaluating curricula.
